A mission to eliminate bullying while educating our future generations.

Project Hope was developed and is updated by the UAB Institute for Human Rights. It offers an anti-bullying curriculum for 5th and 6th graders.

Project Hope is not your usual “one size fits all” curriculum. It was important to us that all schools in Alabama, regardless of size, socio-economic situation, rural or urban setting, and any other circumstances could use our curriculum. This is why we developed what we call a “social action curriculum”, in which students and teacher co-construct projects that address bullying and promote tolerance, equity, and civic competence. Our curriculum has 10 modules, which can be used all together, a few at a time, or one by one, depending on the time and resources schools and teachers want to commit. We developed this social action curriculum for students in 5th grade, but many of the modules are appropriate for older and younger children with slight adaptations.

Everything you need to implement a successful anti-bullying social action curriculum is available on this website. We suggest you start by watching the introductory video above before starting to review the modules and resources.
